Bon Vivant is a print publication exploring culture, people, and travel through the lens of food. As creative director, I lead design, photography, and layout—collaborating closely with managing editor Hugh Amano to craft visual storytelling with an editorial point of view.

The Summer ’23 issue of Bon Vivant dives into the world of Texas-style barbecue. We travel through Central Texas with crews from some of the best BBQ joints in the world, uncover underground barbecue in Chicago, and even smoke brisket ourselves—celebrating fire, flavor, and regional food culture.

Our inaugural issue of Bon Vivant explores the ancient and artful practice of wood fire cooking. From building fires to applying heat with precision, this issue is a tactile, sensory journey into one of humanity’s oldest culinary methods—celebrated with smoke, fire, and editorial storytelling.
